Ruth Rush was made subject to an order under section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 on 3 March 2022.

In accordance with section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate her in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain our approval. The SRA is satisfied that her holding the above roles will not put public confidence in the administration of justice and the provision of legal services or the interests of clients at risk.

Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

On 3rd March 2022, the SDT considered and approved an Agreed Outcome.

The Tribunal ordered that Ruth Alison Linda Rush is fined £7,501.

The Tribunal further ordered that, as of, 3 March 2022, except in accordance with SRA permission –

1. no solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with the practice carried on by that solicitor Ruth Alison Linda Rush of Bottrills Solicitors LLP, 131 The Parade, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD17 1NA;
2. no employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with the solicitor’s practice the said Ruth Alison Linda Rush;
3. no recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Ruth Alison Linda Rush;
4. no manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Ruth Alison Linda Rush in connection with the business of that body;
5. no recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Ruth Alison Linda Rush to be a manager of the body;
6. no recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Ruth Alison Linda Rush to have an interest in the body;
7. no recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Ruth Alison Linda Rush to be a Compliance.
